About The OMNOM Blog

Eating is one of the great joys of life. Whether alone or in a large group, there's nothing like eating an amazing meal to take us away from the daily stress and pressure of the world (though, I'm sure most would agree that it's a lot more enjoyable to eat in a large group).

There's something special about eating in that it evokes such strong memories among (arguably) every human. Taste is strongly linked to smell, which in turn is tied to the amygdala and the hippocampus (not directly of course) and can explain as to why it's much easier to remember the aroma and flavour of your favourite food (prepared by an important figure in your life) compared to the content of your professor's lecture. In fact, it's argued that the cooking of food is one of the essential behaviours that led to the evolution of human beings. I should stop here with the science as I'm sure not a lot of people want to hear a (super simplified) physiology/evolution lecture from a scientist-in-training...

Anyway, welcome to The OMNOM Blog! As you can probably guess from the title itself, this blog offers a fun, non-pretentious take on food. (OMNOM is common slang to describe delicious food, in case you didn't know.) I will mostly be reviewing restaurants in this blog, however on (very rare) occasion, I will also post my own cooking adventures.

In general, I'm a pretty forgiving person and will visit restaurants more than once even if the first visit wasn't exactly amazing. Everyone has a bad day and there could always be the off-chance I arrive on a particularly terrible day. I will review restaurants multiple times if I feel it is warranted.

I started this food blog because I enjoy eating at restaurants whenever I get the chance and I am always willing to try out new types of restaurants. My friends will tell you that I am always nearly the first one to suggest a new place to eat whenever we hang out. That being said, I do not consider myself an expert in food nor do I believe my opinion is the best one out there. My preferred flavours and dishes might be different from your preferences. As such, feel free to debate my reviews if you'd like; I may learn something about the restaurant that I overlooked when I visited. I am just food fan offering my simple opinion and suggestions to my readers.

I hope you enjoy whatever I post in here! Thank you for reading and I hope to hear from some of you!
